In Rome, registry matters (residence, certificates, authentications) are handled at the central registry office in Via Petroselli or in the 15 Municipi the city is divided into.

How to book
Most services need an appointment. The official ways to book:
- Agenda Digitale of Roma Capitale (log in with SPID or CIE).
- Phone: 060606 (Roma Capitale Informa, 24/7, in Italian and English).
- IO app: some registry services are available through the public IO app.
What you can do at the Municipio
- Book an appointment at the registry office
- Register as a resident (Italians, EU, non-EU)
- Understand the difference between residenza and domicilio
- Declare that you are hosting someone (cessione di fabbricato)
- Request registry certificates (also through ANPR)
Certificates online
Many registry certificates can be downloaded free and on your own from the ANPR — national register of resident population portal using SPID, CIE or CNS, without going to a counter.
